Healthy Holiday Travel Tips

Here are a few of our best tips to help you plan the smoothest holiday travel experience possible:

  • Pack with health in mind. Masks are required for all Cape Air employees and passengers while at the check-in counter, gate area, on-board, and while enplaning and deplaning the aircraft. Please note, children age 2 and above are also required to adhere to Cape Air's required face covering policy. We encourage the use of your own personal mask, but will have a limited supply on-hand should you forget to bring one for your flight.
  • Remember to bring along TSA-approved travel size items. Hand sanitizer, is something none of us leave the house without these days, make sure yours is approved for carry on; TSA is allowing one liquid hand sanitizer container up to 12 ounces per passenger in carry-on bags until further notice. You can review additional TSA carry-on policies here.
  • Travel on off peak days. If you're a flexible traveler, consider adjusting your departure dates. You can likely snag a cost-effective deal if your schedule allows you to travel a few days before the holiday rush.
  • Fly from your hometown aiport to avoid the TSA security line back-up. No need to drive into your big city airport when you can easily access efficient regional air service and national connectivity closer to home. Breeze through the security check point in minutes with less of a crowd and more room to stay socially distanced.
  • Pack light. When you fly with Cape Air, passengers can enjoy a free carry on and personal item. Our standard baggage allowance, per ticketed customer, includes one checked bag not to exceed 50 lbs. Review our complete baggage policy including additional free carry-out items.
  • Stay connected. Remember to charge your devices before leaving home and pack an extra charging cable in your carry-on for use in the airport pre-flight. Also be sure to utilize Cape Air's digital conveniences from Self Service Online Check-In as well as real-time Flight Status & Schedules.
  • Arrive on time. We recommend checking in for your flight one hour before scheduled or posted departure times. Please allow additional time for the busy holiday travel period and the extra COVID-19 health and safety measures many airports have implemented. When traveling to and from our major hub cities, we encourage you to review these additional Check-In Time Requirements.
